Police bars Nunieh from leaving her residence
The Police was alleged to be restraining ex-Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joi Nunieh from leaving her residence , even as she was expected in Abuja, Thursday, to appear before a House of Reps panel hearing on NDDC probe.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike was reportedly seen moving into Nunieh’s Port Harcourt, Rivers State residence.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, said he was unaware of any police siege on Nunieh’s Old GRA home, but a former aid to Nunieh said the “invading “Mobile Police claimed they are from Mopol 19.”
The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim, could not be reached to confirm Governor Wike’s reported interventionist move to Nunieh’s home.
However, a source close to Nunieh said, “take my word for it, the Governor is moving there to see what is amiss.”
